חדשות עצובות הערב (חמישי) לחובבי ה-NBA והספורט האמריקאי בכלל: קרייג סייגר, אחד משדרי הקווים הפופולריים ביותר הלך לעולמו בגיל 65 לאחר מאבק ממושך במחלת הסרטן.
סייגר, שהיה ידוע בשל סגנון סגנון הלבוש הססגוני, הצבעוני והייחודי שלו, עבד משך למעלה מארבעים שנים בתחום הספורט. הוא היה אהוב בקרב כל מי שחי את ה-NBA, ובזכות אישיותו הנעימה והמיוחדת, הצליח להתחבב על שחקנים ומאמנים כאחד. בשנה האחרונה הוא זכה בפרס הגבורה על שם ג'ימי ואלוואנו בטקס הפרסים של רשת ESPN ואפילו התכבד, לראשונה בקריירה העשירה שלו, לשדר במשחק בסדרת הגמר.
קומישינר ה-NBA, אדם סילבר, הוציא הודעת תנחומים: "אני, כמו גם כל משפחת ה-NBA, מביע את צערי הרב על מותו של קרייג סייגר. הוא היה איתנו 26 שנים יחד עם סגנונו הייחודי וקולו הנעים. קרייג היה נוכח ברגעים בלתי נשכחים של הליגה ואף אחד לא היה יכול לפספס את נוכחותו עם החליפות הצבעוניות שלבש, שהשתלבה עם אישיותו הצבעונית. ליבנו עם אישתו והמשפחה". אגב, כל קבוצות ה-NBA יעמדו דקת דומייה לזכרו של השדר האגדי.
