עוד לילה מרגש עם הרבה כבוד לזכרם של קובי בראיינט ובתו ג'יאנה. אמש (בין שישי לשבת) התקיים הדראפט של ה-WNBA לשנת 2020, והוא נערך בצורה ווירטואלית בשל בהלת נגיף הקורונה בארה"ב. תכף נגיע לשחקניות שנבחרו, אבל קודם אי אפשר שלא לציין את המחווה המרגשת שנעשתה עבור אלו שנספו בהתרסקות המסוק לפני כשלושה חודשים.
קברניטי הליגה החליטו להכריז כי שלוש הבנות שהיו חלק מהקבוצה team mamba אותה אימן בראיינט ונהרגו באסון הנורא יקבלו בחירת כבוד לדראפט הזה. השמות של ג'יאנה בראיינט, אליסה אלטובלי ופייטון צ'סטר נאמרו, ומשם עברו לבחירות של הקבוצות בשחקניות המכללות.
הראשונה, באופן לא מפתיע כלל, הייתה סברינה יונסקו, שנבחרה על ידי ניו יורק ליברטי. יונסקו, שמגיעה מאוניברסיטת אורגון, היא חברה טובה של משפחת בראיינט וראתה בקובי כמנטור אישי שלה. היא גם הייתה אחת מאלה שספדו לממבה בטקס האשכבה שלו בסטייפלס סנטר. הקבוצה מהתפוח הגדול לא הגיעה לפלייאוף בשנתיים האחרונות, ויונסקו היא בהחלט שחקנית שיכולה לשנות כיוון עבורה.
במקום השני נבחרה סאטו סבאלי על ידי דאלאס ווינגס, לוקן קוקס שלישית על ידי אינדיאנה פיבר, צ'נדי קארטר רביעית על ידי אטלנטה דרים ובלה אלארי חמישית על ידי דאלאס ווינגס.
